10PM Winter Storm Elliott update

ERIE COUNTY – Below is information for Winter Storm Elliott as of 10PM Friday.

WEATHER: A Winter Storm Warning and Wind Chill Warning remain in effect until 10AM Saturday. For more on the weather, click here.

TRAFFIC: Erie County remains under a Level 3 Winter Road Warning. As a result, all roadways are closed to all non-emergency travel due to extremely hazardous conditions. For updates on the winter road warning level, click here. Roadways still have moderate to heavy delays reported. If you do have to travel, check our Waze traffic map here.

POWER OUTAGES: FirstEnergy is reporting that almost 2,000 customers throughout Erie County are without power. A majority of the outages are in Castalia, Groton Township, Huron, Margaretta Township, Oxford Township, and Sandusky. Power is expected to be restored to the majority of customers by 11:00PM on Sunday, December 25. For more information on the power outages, click here.

WARMING CENTER: A warming center is being held at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Sandusky. It will be open each night from 6:00PM to 7:00AM from Friday, December 23 to Monday, December 26. For more information on the warming center, click here.

TURNPIKE CRASH: Four fatalities and multiple injuries have been reported after approximately 50 vehicles were involved in crashes on the Ohio Turnpike. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to update information on the crash. For the latest on the crash, click here.
