Huron’s Brown finishes 18th in state prelims

CANTON – Huron’s Grantham Brown finished 18th in the preliminary round of the 500 freestyle at the OHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championship Thursday.

Brown, a junior, finished with a time of 4:54.97.

The first place finisher in the race was Sam Campbell, a senior at Oakwood High School in Dayton. Campbell finished with a time of 4:28.73.

The only other local competitor in the 500 was Mason Hayberger, a senior at Sandusky High School. Hayberger finished 23rd with a time of 5:01.97.
