Thank you, Huron!

Hey Huron! It has been a bit since I posted; however, it is now time for me to say thank you and goodbye.

I started Huron Insider when I was in eighth grade. I wanted to serve my community by providing Huron with local government news and reporting how these decisions affected people. A few months later, the world changed with the COVID-19 pandemic. Huron Insider, as well, changed and adapted by adding daily updates on the virus and reporting the response to the pandemic that would have effects on the people of Erie County.

Following the pandemic, Huron Insider continued to grow by providing daily reports on a wide variety of topics, from road closures to real estate transactions, that affected the daily lives of people in Erie County. Huron Insider also put a spotlight on topics that were not as well noticed. From shining a light on the actions of government officials to sharing information about missing persons, these stories were reported with the goal of making a better life for locals, while also continuing to provide every angle of the story to allow the readers to make up their own minds.

Thank you to everyone who read and responded to all of these reports on Huron Insider. Your support has meant the world to me.

As for me, I am entering the next stage of my life as I start college. I am studying media production this fall at Bowling Green State University. While I will no longer be reporting news on Huron Insider, I will still be back in the community from time to time, and when I am back, I look forward to interacting with the great people of this area.

Again, thank you Huron and Erie County for your support throughout the years,

Nate Hinners
