First half of real estate taxes due by February 15 in Erie County

ERIE COUNTY – Erie County property owners must pay the first half of their 2022 real estate taxes by Tuesday, February 15, 2023.

Taxes can be paid through a variety of methods.

They can be paid online or over the phone using a credit card, debit card, or electronic check. Online taxes can be paid through the Erie County Treasurer’s Office online payment page. Over the phone, taxes can be paid by calling 877-739-5989.

There is a processing fee for paying with a card or electronic check. The fees are $1.00 for an electronic check; 2.39% for a credit card, with a minimum fee of $2.00; and 1.0% for a debit card, with a minimum fee of $1.50.

Checks can be mailed to the Treasurer’s Office at 247 Columbus Avenue, Suite 115, Sandusky, OH 44870. Checks should be made to “Erie County Treasurer.” The checks should include the tax bill stub or the parcel number.

Taxes can also be paid in-person by visiting the Treasurer’s Office, which is located in downtown Sandusky at 247 Columbus Avenue, Suite 115. Until February 15, they will have special collection hours of 7:30AM to 5:00PM on weekdays.

Property tax amounts can be found on the Erie County Auditor’s Office website.
