Man charged with felony after allegedly throwing action figure at pregnant girlfriend

SANDUSKY – A 56-year-old man was arrested and charged with a felony Tuesday after he allegedly threw an action figure at his girlfriend who is seven months pregnant.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, police responded to the Foxborough Circle apartment after a woman called claiming that she was struck by her boyfriend, Andre Hammonds.

When police arrived, according to the report, the woman told police that the incident started after she began to feel nauseous while making dinner for Hammonds and her children, which led to an argument over him ignoring her. She claimed, according to the report, he eventually threw his clothes out the window and when she tried to calm him down, threw a nine to ten inch action figure at her.

The report states that the woman had a contusion on her forehead from her hairline down to her eyebrows.

According to the report, the woman stated that once she called 911, Hammonds left the area. Due to police being unable to locate him, a warrant was issued for Hammonds’ arrest.

Hammonds is charged with a fifth-degree felony count of domestic violence. The charge was enhanced to a felony, due to the woman being seven months pregnant.
