Man charged after allegedly strangling man

SANDUSKY – A man was charged with a felony Wednesday morning after he allegedly strangled another man.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, police were called to the Pierce Street house for a report of a physical domestic between two men. The complainant added that one of the men involved, Donald Trussell, 47, had left the scene.

When police arrived, according to the report, they spoke to the other man who was involved. He claimed, according to the report, that Trussell had attacked him and began chocking him. He added that he thought he was going to die, the report states. According to the report, he man said that Trussell stopped strangling him when he said his daughter’s birthday was the following day and he wanted to be there for it.

The report states that police observed a red abrasion mark that was approximately three inches long on the man’s neck.

The complainant told police, according to the report, that she invited Trussell over for drinks. She said, the report states, that an argument started between the two men. According to the report, she said that the argument escalated when the two went outside and Trussell picked up and began strangling the other man.

According to the report, Trussell has two prior domestic convictions from 1995 and 2001.

A warrant has been issued for Trussell’s arrest. He is charged with domestic violence (F3).
