Local highway construction for the week of April 4

Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated by the Ohio Department of Transportation to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties on the week of April 4.

Erie County

U.S. 6, from the western Vermilion Corporation limits to the Lorain County line, and State Route 60, from the southern Vermilion Corporation limits to U.S. 6, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project and bridge work at the structure over the Vermilion River.

U.S. 6 at the truss bridge over the Vermillion River, between W. River Road and Park Drive, will close Tuesday, April 5 for one day as crews complete bridge repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be U.S. 6 to SR 60, south on SR 60 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to SR 58, north on SR 58 to U.S. 6, and reverse for westbound motorists.

Huron County

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass, from SR 99 to Cleveland Road, will have single lane closures as needed for bridge painting at structures along the bypass. Crews will begin work on the west end of the project. Estimated completion: October 2022

Lorain County

SR 10, between U.S. 20 and I-480, will have eastbound and westbound lane closures for a resurfacing project.

The SR 10 westbound exit ramp to U.S. 20 will periodically close Monday, April 4 for resurfacing work. The ramp will be open daily from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. The detour route for westbound motorists will be to continue west on SR 10 to the Grafton Road exit, exit onto Grafton Road and re-enter onto U.S. 10 east, travel U.S. 10 east to the U.S. 20 exit. Estimated completion: Wednesday, April 5, 2022.

The SR 10 eastbound exit ramp to SR 83 will periodically close Monday, April 4 for resurfacing work. The ramp will be open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be to continue east on SR 10 to the Lorain Road exit, exit onto Lorain Road and re-enter onto U.S. 10 west, travel U.S. 10 west to the SR 83 exit. Estimated completion: Wednesday, April 5, 2022

Ottawa County

State Route 2, over Cedar Creek between Teachout Rd. and Donovan Rd., Jerusalem Twp., is closed for bridge replacement through mid-May. Detour: I-280 or SR 2 to SR 51 to SR 579 to SR 2.

State Route 2, between SR 358 and SR 163/SR 53 interchange, Port Clinton, will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning in early April through October. Several ramp restrictions and closures are associated with this project.

Sandusky County

State Route 53, between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike, Fremont, may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. Additional restrictions may be announced.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 53, Tiffin, may experience lane and shoulder restrictions for finish work.

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr., Tiffin, resurfacing will resume in spring 2022.
