Woman charged after allegedly barging into hotel room

SANDUSKY – A Berlin Heights woman has been charged with Disorderly Conduct, after she allegedly drunkenly barged into a stranger’s hotel room at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Kalahari early Thursday morning for a welfare check. The caller reported that she could hear a female yelling for help outside of her hotel room.

When the deputy arrived at the resort, he first spoke to the complainant. She said that her and a man were sleeping in the room with their daughter, when they heard tapping on the window. The woman said that she opened the curtains and didn’t see anything; however, she said that the tapping soon continued on the patio door. The woman said that she then partially opened the door, to check to see what was going on; and, when she did, an unknown woman “barged” into their hotel room, sat on the floor, and claimed that she had been physically and sexually assaulted. The woman told the woman on the floor to leave her room immediately.

The deputy then located a security guard and the woman who had allegedly barged into the room. The woman, who appeared to be highly intoxicated, allegedly told the deputy that she was there with friends, but couldn’t find her room and was unaware about what was generally was going on. When the deputy asked the woman about the incident, the woman allegedly claimed that she was unaware about it. She also allegedly claimed that she was not assaulted, physically or sexually.

The deputy then spoke to the woman’s friends, who identified themselves as co-workers of her. They allegedly said that the woman had been causing issues all evening and eventually left their room.

The woman was with Disorderly Conduct (MM). She was transported to the Erie County Jail, due to her being highly intoxicated and no one not wanting to take responsibility for her.
