Huron City Schools superintendent says there has been an increase in absences, strongly recommends masks for students

HURON – In an email to parents and guardians Tuesday, Huron City Schools Superintendent John Ruf said that there has been an increase in students absences.

Ruf said that absences have mostly been in McCormick Junior High School and Huron High School. He said that he cannot confirm if the absences are COVID-19 relegated.

Ruf also said that masks are now “strongly recommend” for students. On September 7, masks became “strongly recommend” for staff. Masks are still not required for staff or students.
