Huron City Schools to keep masks optional

HURON – Huron City Schools Interim Superintendent John Ruf announced Friday that Huron City Schools will continue to not require face masks.

Ruf says that masks will be “strongly recommended” for staff starting Tuesday, September 7. He says that this decision was made after a meeting with Erie County Health Commissioner Peter Schade.

Masks will continue to be required on buses, as that is part of a federal mandate going until at least January 18, 2022.

Sandusky High School and Sandusky Middle School went virtual this week, due to a rise in COVID-19 cases at Sandusky High School.
