54 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed and nine new hospitalizations in Erie County

COLUMBUS and SANDUSKY – Since Friday in Erie County, 54 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 5,156. There were no new deaths in the past week. Nine more people were hospitalized from COVID-19. 777 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As of Friday, 10 people are currently being treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center. 112 people are also currently under quarantine or isolation.

Since Thursday in the State of Ohio, 749 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 913,431. 105 people were hospitalized. 57,914 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 in Ohio. 20,411 people begun the vaccination process. 4,934,947 people in Ohio or 42.22% of Ohio’s population have now begun the vaccination process. 27,953 people also finished the vaccination process. 4,320,777 people or 36.96% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process. Since Tuesday, 87 Ohioans died from COVID-19. 19,528 Ohioans have now died from COVID-19.
