Local Highway Construction for the Week of March 29

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of March 29.

Erie County

U.S. 250, just south of Mason Road, will have single lane closures for culvert repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Construction is expected to be completed in April.

Huron County

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass, from the U.S. 20/State Route 61 interchange to the end of the bypass at Cleveland Road, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times. This week, crews will be utilizing signalized lane closures on South Norwalk Road and Ridge Road at the overhead structures above U.S. 20. Construction is expected to be completed in June.

Lorain County

State Route 2, from just east of Baumhart Road to just east of SR 58, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. The closures are listed below.

  • From Friday, March 26 to Monday, March 29 from 7:00PM to 3:00PM, SR 2 westbound, from SR 58 to Oak Point Road, will have single lane closures for repairs. The westbound passing lane will be closed Friday to Monday. Traffic will be maintained in the driving lane.
  • From Monday, March 29 to Friday, April 4 from 7:00AM to 4:00PM, SR 2 westbound, from Oak Point Road to Baumhart Road, will have single lane closures for repairs. The westbound passing lane will be closed Monday to Friday. Traffic will be maintained in the driving lane.
  • From Monday, April 5 to Friday, April 9 from 7:00AM to 4:00PM, SR 2 eastbound, from Baumhart Road to Oak Point Road, will have single lane closures for repairs. The eastbound passing lane will be closed Monday to Friday. Traffic will be maintained in the driving lane.
  • From Monday, March 22 to Friday, March 26 from 7:00AM to 4:00PM, SR 2, from Oak Point Road to Baumhart Road, will have single lane closures for full depth concrete repairs. The westbound and eastbound driving lanes will be closed for repairs and traffic will be maintained in the passing lane.

Ottawa County

Ottawa County currently has no active projects.

Sandusky County

Sandusky County currently has no active projects.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23, between Township Road 108 and County Road 18 in Alvada, will be closed for bridge repairs, beginning Monday, April 5 through May. Lane restrictions will be announced for resurfacing between Wyandot County and Fostoria. Construction is expected to be completed in October. The detour is to go from US 224 to SR 587 to SR 18.

State Route 19, between TR 184 and CR 6, Bloomville, will be closed for bridge replacement over Silver Creek, beginning Monday, March 29 through May. The detour is to go from US 224 to SR 4 to SR 103.

State Route 101, between SR 19 and SR 778 in Tiffin, may experience intermittent daytime closures for tree removal, throughout the end of March. The detour is to go from SR 19 to SR 778.
