1,860 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed and 111 new hospitalizations in Ohio

Columbus, OH and Sandusky, OH – This week in Erie County, 64 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 4,688. One person died from COVID-19. 207 people have now died from COVID-19 in Erie County. Eight more people were hospitalized from COVID-19. 664 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As of Friday, 11 people are currently being treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center. 193 people are also currently under quarantine or isolation.

Since Thursday in the State of Ohio, 1,860 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 856,310. 111 people were hospitalized. 52,650 people have now been hospitalized from COVID-19 in Ohio. Today’s case and hospitalization numbers were well above the two-week average. 89,830 people begun the vaccination process. 3,117,500 people in Ohio or 26.67% of Ohio’s population have now begun the vaccination process. 52,119 people also finished the vaccination process. 1,763,847 people or 15.09% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process. Since Tuesday, 144 Ohioans died from COVID-19. 18,526 Ohioans have now died from COVID-19.
