Ohio’s COVID-19 Curfew lifted

Columbus, OH – Starting, Thursday, February 11, Ohioans will no longer be under a 11PM-6AM curfew.

At the Thursday, February 11 Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, Governor Mike DeWine announced that the change was made due to a decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations.

The curfew was originally announced back in November. It limited non-essential travel from 10PM-5AM. Back in November is when COVID-19 was spiking Ohio, with several days having over 11,000 new COVID-19 cases.

The curfew’s start time was pushed back to 11PM in January. When that was announced, Governor DeWine announced a plan for when the curfew would be pushed back and removed. The plan said that Ohio would need less then 2,500 hospitalizations in seven days for the curfew will be lifted.
