Ohio’s curfew start time pushed back to 11PM

On Wednesday Afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine announced that, starting on January 28, Ohio’s Curfew will start at 11PM, instead of 10PM. It will continue to end at 5AM.

The change comes as Ohio’s COVID-19 numbers have declined in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, Governor DeWine announced a plan for when the curfew. The next step in the plan is to push the curfew start time back to 12AM. Ohio will need to have less than 3,000 hospitalizations in seven days for that to happen. After that, when there is less than 2,500 hospitalizations in seven day, the curfew will be lifted.

He said, “We’re basing the curfew on hospital utilization because it is one of our most reliable indicators of disease severity. When people are sick enough with #COVID19 to be in the hospital in high numbers, we know that virus spread is high.”
