Man killed after being ejected from car

SANDUSKY – A 45-year-old man died following a single-vehicle accident on Mason Road just west of Harris Road in Oxford Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Saturday morning when John Donald, of Sandusky, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata westbound.

The Patrol said Donald’s vehicle crossed over the yellow centerline and traveled off the south side of Mason Road. The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant, fence post, and overturned. Donald was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was subsequently ejected from the vehicle.

He sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, the Patrol stated.

The crash remains under investigation.
