Huron Board of Education fills seat

HURON – The Huron Board of Education voted at their annual organizational meeting on Tuesday to fill the seat of late member John P. Jones.

The board voted to fill the seat with longtime member Jody Mast, who did not run for re-election in 2022 but applied to continue to remain on the board following Jones’ passing.

Before voting to appoint Mast, the board interviewed her and several other candidates in open session.

After filling the seat, the board voted Mast to board president and Stacey Hartley to vice president.

Also at the organizational meeting, Chris Rager was sworn in as a board member. Rager won in a write-in race during the 2023 general election.
