UPDATED: Omni Fiber service back in Huron following day-long outage

HURON – Omni Fiber customers in Huron are spending part of their Friday without internet service due to a vehicle crashing into a utility pole, the company announced.

The company says the utility pole first has to be replaced by the power company and then the fiber cables will be repaired.

They expect to have service returned by Friday afternoon, and “apologize for the inconvenience.”

UPDATE Friday 7:00PM: Omni says the damage to the pole is “more severe than initially anticipated,” and they now expect service to return late Friday night.

UPDATE Friday 11:00PM: Omni Fiber says repairs have been made and services have been returned to customers. The company says individuals still experiencing issues should reboot their router by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in. If that does not restore the connection, customers should call 844-844-6664 and follow the prompts for technical support.
