SANDUSKY – A 32-year-old man was charged after he allegedly stood with his pants down at Huron Park.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, officers responded to the park on the afternoon of April 14 for a report of a man exposing himself.

The report states a woman, who was with her children, told police that the man was standing behind a telephone pole with his pants down and penis exposed. She claimed she then called police and when the man observed her doing so, he put his belt back on and ran into a nearby building.

According to the report, police located the man, Luke Schaefer, who claimed that he was adjusting his belt and his pants never came down to a point where his penis would be exposed. The report states Schaefer, who appeared nervous, claimed the woman should be charged with making a false police report and said “This is how police get a bad reputation.”

The report states that due to the woman’s allegations and Schaefer admitting to being out by the side of the road, police chose to charge Schaefer with public indecency, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
