Huron girls finish in 11th at State meet

OBETZ – At Saturday’s OHSAA State Cross Country Championship meet, the Huron Tigers girls cross country team finished in 11th place.

The Tigers were led by senior Kennedy Schlessman, who finished on the podium in 15th place with a time of 19:04.1. Behind Schlessman was junior Jadyn Towns, who finished in 22nd place with a time of 19:26.0. Both Schlessman and Towns received First-Team All Ohio Honors.

Finishing behind Schlessman and Towns was junior Lucy Watson, who finished 119th with a time of 21:47.1; sophomore Samantha Lesnak, who finished 124th with a time of 21:59.0; freshman Liz Heidl, who finished 154th with a time of 22:45.6; freshman Olivia Kohlmann, who finished 163rd with a time of 23:07.1; and senior Allison Blevins, who finished 165th with a time of 23:09.3.

Competing for Edison was freshman Kellen McDonnell and sophomore Grace Anderson, who both qualified individually at regionals. Anderson finished on the podium in 13th place with a time of 18:53.0. McDonnell finished 78th with a time of 17:25.3.
