Marlene Cottier

Marlene Sue (Wilk) Cottier, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 17, 2022 at The Commons of Providence following a brief illness.

Marlene was born on July 14, 1935 in Sandusky, OH to the late Leo Wilk and Kathleen Jane (Tice) Ahlers.

Marlene graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953. She had previously been employed at Klaus Oldsmobile Cadillac for 15 years, before retiring from Klee Plumbing & Heating as their bookkeeper after over 20 years of service. Marlene was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, plastic crafts, playing cards, bowling and spending time with her family.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Davie of Sandusky; sons, Richard A. (Trudy) Cottier Jr. of Perrysburg and Timothy J. Cottier of Saginaw, MI and daughter-in-law, Janice Cottier of Sandusky; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Glay, Jan Neuburger, Devin Cottier, Karissa Cottier, Colette Allaudeen, Eric Hugg, Cole Cottier and Luke Cottier; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on June 20, 1955, Richard A. Cottier Sr. who died on March 5, 1975; daughter, Kathleen J. Cottier; step-father, Elmer Ahlers; sister, Kathleen Ezel; brother, Elmer George Ahlers and son-in-law, Brian E. Davie.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
