Local highway construction for the week of August 15

Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated by the Ohio Department of Transportation to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties on the week of August 15.

Erie County

State Route 60, from SR 113 to Kneisel Road, will have single lane closures for asphalt pavement repairs, then crack sealing, and micro surfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: August 2023

Huron County

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass, from SR 99 to Cleveland Road, will have single lane closures as needed for bridge painting at structures along the bypass. Estimated completion: October 2022

Lorain County

State Route 57, from just north of Cleveland Street to just west of Abbe Road, will have single lane closures for asphalt pavement repairs, then crack sealing, and micro surfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: August 2023

State Route 58, from SR 113 to Park Avenue, will have single lane closures for asphalt pavement repairs, then crack sealing, and micro surfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: August 2023

State Route 301, from SR 18 to just north of SR 303 and from just south of Biggs Road to U.S. 20, will have single lane closures for asphalt pavement repairs, then crack sealing, and micro surfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: August 2023

Ottawa County

State Route 2, between SR 358 and SR 163 (east of Port Clinton), will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing through August.

State Route 19, County Rd. 109 and County Rd. 119, will be closed for railroad repairs beginning Monday, August 15 through Friday, August 19. Detour: US 20 to SR 590 to SR 105. Closure occurring in adjacent Sandusky County; provided as information.

State Route 105, between S. Elliston-Trowbridge Rd. and Stange Rd., Harris Twp., will be closed for a culvert replacement through Tuesday, September 6. Detour: SR 590 to SR 163 to SR 51.

State Route 163 at Billman Rd., Genoa, is closed for a bridge replacement through September. Detour: SR 163 to N.Fostoria Rd. to W. Holt Harrigan Rd. to N. Billman Rd.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6, between CR 128 and Brush St., will experience lane restrictions for US 6/US 20/State St. ramp realignment. Lane widths will be reduced to 11′ in various locations in each direction.

Eastbound US 20 ramp to westbound/southbound US 6 is closed for reconstruction through Thursday, August 18. Detour: State St. to Oak Harbor Rd. to westbound US 6/20 to southbound SR 53.

Westbound US 6/Southbound SR 53 at the split with westbound US 20 to Muskellunge Creek Rd. will be closed through Friday, August 12. Westbound US 6 detour: continue US 20 WB to southbound SR 590 toward US 6. Southbound SR 53: continue westbound US 20 to southbound SR 590 to eastbound US 6 to SR 53.

Ramp from eastbound US 6/northbound SR 53 to CR 20 will be closed through Friday, August 12. Detour: Continue US 6 EB/SR 53 NB and merge with US 20 EB. Exit on Exit 100 into Fremont to Oak Harbor Rd. to CR 20/West State St.

State Route 19, County Rd. 109 and County Rd. 119, will be closed for railroad repairs beginning Monday, August 15 through Friday, August 19. Detour: US 20 to SR 590 to SR 105.

State Route 19, between TR 127 and TR 83, Fremont, is open following two culvert replacements. Lane restrictions are possible for finish work through August.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 587, New Riegel, is closed for roundabout construction through August. U.S. 224 Detour: US 23 to SR 18 to US 224. SR 587 Detour: SR 53 to SR 18.

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr., Tiffin, will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing through mid-July.
