Mark Stratton

Mark A. Stratton, 63, residing in Vermilion, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain, OH.

He was born on June 7, 1958 in Sandusky, OH to the late Leo Stratton Sr. and Catherine (Newcomer) Stratton.

He earned a BA in 1998 from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, MO, majoring in English and a minor in Computer Science.

Mark worked as a dispatcher for Logan Freight, St. Louis, MO and moved to Vermilion and had worked as a job coach and IT manager at Goodwill Industries, Sandusky, for the last 10 years. He had a passion for working with people with disabilities. Mark was a carpenter, a trade he learned from his father. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Ann (Dave) Ireland of Butler, PA, Charlene (Bill) May of Tavernier, FL, and Holly (Mike) Protzek of Oak Ridge, NC; brothers, Leo (Frieda) Stratton Jr. of Vermilion, William (Julie) Stratton of Huron, Paul (Sally) Stratton of Collins, OH, and Clyde Stratton of Washington, MO; special friend & companion, Pamela Hartle and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Father Zach Brown will officiate.
