Woman hospitalized after allegedly hitting parked car while looking at phone

SANDUSKY – A 21-year-old Sandusky woman was hospitalized Wednesday night after she allegedly hit a parked car while she was looking down at her phone.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, the woman was driving east on West Osborne Street, when she struck a parked car in the rear.

Following the crash, according to the report, that she was responding to a text and looking down at her phone when she hit the car. Due to these statements, the woman was cited for texting and driving and failure to control a motor vehicle.

The woman was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center by the Sandusky Fire Department for suspected minor injuries.
