One hospitalized following crash on SR 61

BERLIN HEIGHTS – One individual was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after their vehicle went off State Route 61 in Berlin Township.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, a 2011 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on SR 61, when it failed to maintain control and drove off the right side of the roadway. The SUV struck a utility pole causing the pole to break and then flipped over onto its roof landing in a nearby yard

The driver of the Escape, a 71-year-old Norwalk resident, was transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center by North Central EMS.
