Woman charged with felony, accused of assaulting man with phone

SANDUSKY – Jameckia Hammon, 42, was arrested and charged with a felony after she allegedly assaulted a man with her phone.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, on the evening of April 9, Hammon called police and claimed she was having issues with a man and it became physical.

When police arrived at the Value Inn, according to the report, they spoke to the man and his adult son. The man claimed that Hammon and him were in an argument over kicking his son out of their room, when Hammon made a stabbing motion and struck the man with her phone, the report states. The adult son backed up his father’s story, adding that Hammon regularly assaults his father, the report states. Police observed a small laceration to the corner of the man’s right eye.

Police then spoke to Hammon, the report states. She claimed, according to the report, that the adult son threw a folding chair at this father.

Police decided to charge Hammon due to the witness statements and injuries on the man. She also had one previous domestic violence in 2021.

Hammon was arrested and charged with domestic violence (F4) and assault (M1).
