One hospitalized after car backs into ditch

VERMILION – A man was hospitalized Thursday morning after he backed his car into a ditch.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the man was backing out of his Barnes Road driveway. After backing out of the driveway, according to the report, the vehicle continued to back-out eastbound, drove over the roadway, and eventually went into a large ditch.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center by the Vermilion Township Fire Department.
