Debbie Crum

Debbie L. Crum, 68, of Castalia, died Thursday evening in The Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her husband and two daughters.

Debbie was born March 9, 1954 in Sandusky, the daughter of Carl and Beverly Cullen. She was baptized Luthern in 1963, and was a 1973 graduate of Sandusky High School. She retired from Meijers after many years and had previously been employed by the IAB Club.

She enjoyed fishing, collectibles, and taking long drives to visit different restaurants around the area. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with the Meijers bunch after retirement. She’ll be remembered as saying “naps are good”.

Her husband, Jerald E. “Jerry” Crum, Sr., to whom she married Oct. 11, 1974, survives her, as well as two daughters, Catherine Holroyde of Huron and Carrieanne (John Hood, III) Hood of Louisville, Kentucky, grandchildren Ashleay , Brandin, Kristen and Hannah “Danny” Holroyde, Casey Crum and John Hood IV and Tye-Anthony Hood, great-grandchildren James, Dennis, John V and Jersey. She also is survived by her mother, Beverly Brauer of Groton Townhip, two sisters, Kathy (Don) Signs and Karen Collins, and brothers Lonnie (Laurie) Cullen, Ronnie (Trinia) Brauer and Timothy Brauer, step-sons Jerold E. (Kim) Crum, Jr. of Texas and Shawn Crum of Colorado, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Carl, infant son Jason, step-father Wallace Brauer, son-in-law John “Jack” Holroyde, and brother-in-law Larry Collins.

Friends may call on Wednesday March 23, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. in Groff Funeral Home & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome and may be given to the family to donate to a worthy cause.
