Huron defeats Lexington 46-39, wins districts

ASHLAND – The Huron Tiger boys basketball team defeated the Lexington Minutemen 46-39 in the district final Saturday.

Huron was in the lead for most of the game. However, unlike on Thursday, the score remained close throughout. Especially in the last minutes of the fourth quarter, where, at one point, there was only a three point difference in the score.

Huron finished ahead at the end of all quarters. The first quarter ended 10-8; the second quarter ended 21-14; and third quarter ended 34-27.

Following the win, the Tigers were given their awards and cut the net. Fans then joined the players and cheerleaders on the court.

Huron will now play the St. Marys Memorial Roughriders on Thursday, March 10 at 8:00PM. That game will be played at Bowling Green State University. St. Marys is 17-7, while Huron is 21-2.
