One hospitalized following crash involving bicycle

SANDUSKY – A bicyclist was hospitalized following a Friday evening crash on Monroe Street.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, a bicycle was traveling westbound on Monroe Street, near the intersection with Columbus Avenue. According to the report, the bicycle failed to stop at the red light and stuck a car that was traveling on Columbus.

The bicyclist, a 64-year-old Sandusky man, was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center for suspected minor injuries. He was cited for failure to control a bicycle.
