Man arrested after allegedly assaulting man with pizza at Sandusky bar

SANDUSKY – A man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly assaulted a man with pizza at Daly’s Pub on Columbus Avenue.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, a man told police that he and another man were talking. The man said, according to the report, that Matthew Baker, 37, of Sandusky, then walked up to them, took their pizza, and put it into his mouth. He then, according to the report, proceeded to take the pizza out of his mouth and strike him in the face with his hand and the pizza.

A bartender backed up the story, the report states.

The complainant told police, according to the report, that he did not know Baker.

According to the report, police then detained Baker. When they did this, according to the report, he threatened to go back into the bar and “fight all their asses.” He claimed, according to the report, that he was jumped by 15 people.

Baker was charged with assault (M1) and disorderly conduct (MM). He was transported to the Erie County Jail.
