City of Huron’s finance director resigns

HURON – City of Huron Finance Director Cory Swaisgood will be leaving the City for a job at the Ohio Auditor of State.

At the February 8 Huron City Council meeting, City Manager Matt Lasko told council that Swaisgood will leave the City sometime in late March or early April.

Swaisgood has been with the City of Huron since 2019. In 2021, while continuing to work full-time at the City of Huron, he took a part-time Finance Director at the City of Olmsted Falls. Prior to coming to the City of Huron, he worked for Cuyahoga County.

In a statement to Huron Insider, Swaisgood said, “I have been blessed to serve as the City’s Finance Director and want to express my gratitude to Council members and City managers I had the pleasure to work. It was a difficult decision to make. This City has very hard working and passionate staff that you won’t find anywhere else. The City is in a great position with City Manager Matt Lasko. I wish nothing but the best to staff and the City of Huron.”

The City of Huron has posted the job to their website.
