Huron’s Brown advances to state; several school records broken at districts

BOWLING GREEN – At Thursday’s OHSAA Northwest District Swim Meet, several Huron school records were broken and Huron’s Grantham Brown (middle-right) advanced to state.

Brown advanced to state by finishing fourth, with a time of 4:35.53, in the 500 Freestyle. In the 500, he broke the schools record. Brown also broke the school record in the 200 Freestyle, with a time of 1:49.33.

The 400 Freestyle Relay team (picture), consisting of Carter Schlessman, Joey Lenczyk, Jared Lenczyk, and Granthem Brown, also broke the school record. They finished with a time of 3:28.61.

The OHSAA State Swimming and Diving Tournament will be held from February 23 to February 26 in Canton.
