Man arrested, charged with felony after meth, tramadol found in vehicle

HURON – A man was arrested and charged with a felony after methamphetamine and tramadol were allegedly found in his vehicle.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of February 1, deputies were dispatched to the McDonald’s in Huron for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. The caller stated that an individual had pulled into a reserved parking spot and appeared impaired.

When deputies arrived, according to the report, they found Jeffrey Guerra, 31, homeless, sleeping in the driver’s seat. According to the report, when deputies were able to awake Guerra, who spoke extremely lethargic and sporadic, admitted to parking in the spot and taking pills.

The deputies then asked Guerra to take field sobriety tests, which he agreed to do and later failed, according to the report. Guerra was then arrested for OVI.

When deputies searched Guerra’s vehicle, according to the report, they found two bags of a powder that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Tramadol was also found in the vehicle, the report states.

Guerra was transported to the Erie County Jail. He was charged with OVI (M1), Possession of Methamphetamine (F5), and Possession of a scheduled IV controlled substance (M1).
