Governor DeWine Gives Ohioans Good News About COVID-19 in Ohio

At the Tuesday, November 24 Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, Governor DeWine shared some good news to Ohioans about COVID-19 in Ohio.

Governor DeWine said that unemployment is down in Ohio. The unemployment rate for October in Ohio is 5.6%.

Governor DeWine said that regional representatives are reporting that they’re now observing 90% mask-wearing compliance.

Governor DeWine also said the Ohio is expecting a batch of COVID-19 vaccine. It is expected to arrive around December 15.

Along with the good news, several medical professional shared their concerns about COVID-19 spiking even higher. Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, the Chief Medical Officer of the Ohio Department of Health, said, “The big fear is if we don’t take the message of masking, distancing, and avoiding big groups seriously, Thanksgiving could result in our hospitals being overwhelmed. It’s very serious. It’s a matter of personal responsibility, and we owe it to each other.”

On Tuesday in Ohio, 7,250 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, 364 people were hospitalized, and 98 people died from COVID-19 in Ohio.
