Large winter storm expected this week

CLEVELAND – A large snow storm is expected to impact Northern Ohio from Wednesday to Friday.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Winter Storm Watch for most of Northern Ohio. For most of north central Ohio, they are expecting between 12 and 18 inches of snow.

Rain is expected to transition into snow Wednesday afternoon or evening. The heaviest snow accumulations and greatest impacts are expected to occur Thursday into Thursday night. Snow may mix with sleet or freezing rain late Wednesday night into Thursday.

UPDATE 8:30 Tuesday: The Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning for Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, Huron, Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky, Hancock and Seneca counties.
