HURON – Huron City Schools will hold focus group sessions on Wednesday, February 2 for their superintendent search.

The Ohio School Boards Association is assisting the district with the search. At their January 4 meeting, the board voted to have to OSBA take over search from North Point.

According to a press release from the OSBA, consultant Teri Morgan will first meet with administration, teachers, and staff during the day to review the hiring
process and receive input. Parents, civic groups, business leaders, and community members are then invited to attend one of two evening sessions in the Tiger Union at Huron High School. The sessions will be held from 4:15PM to 5:00PM and 5:30PM to 6:15PM.

According to the OBSA, the conversations will focus on the following three topics:
1) Major issues facing the district for the next three to five years;

3) Personal and professional qualities to be sought in the next superintendent.

The timeline for this search includes accepting applications until midnight on February 18; first interviews on March 8, 9, and 10; second interviews on March 22 with the resolution to hire at the next appropriate Board of Education meeting.
