Woman hospitalized following three vehicle crash

SANDUSKY – A woman was hospitalized following a three vehicle crash that took place Thursday afternoon on SR 4, near SR 99, in Groton Township.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place when a vehicle hit a vehicle that was stopped for a stop sign. The vehicle that was struck that then struck the vehicle in front of it, which was also stopped for the stop sign.

A passenger in the vehicle that was first stuck, a 46-year-old Bellevue woman, was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center by North Central EMS.

The driver of the vehicle that was found to cause the crash was cited for Assured Clear Distance.
