Michigan woman hospitalized following single-vehicle crash in Monroeville

MONROEVILLE – A woman was life flighted to Toledo early Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash on US 20, just east of SR 99, in Monroeville.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kyericka Claybon, 34, of Lincoln Park, MI was traveling eastbound on US 20 when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. She then traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a raised median, a telephone pole, a parked dump truck and then over turned.

Claybon was extricated from her vehicle by mechanical means. She was flown by life flight to Toledo St. Vincent Medical Center.

Claybon was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Speed, according to the patrol, appears to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Huron River Joint Fire Department, Monroeville Police Department, North Central EMS, and Interstate Towing.
