Paul Wilkinson

Paul Hubert Wilkinson, 97, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021.

He was born on March 11, 1924 in Carbon Hill, Ohio to Harry and Bertha (Johnson) Wilkinson. Paul graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1942. He was a proud World War II Veteran. He entered the army on February 13, 1924 and served with the 358th Engineer Regiment in Normandy and the Rhineland. He married Virginia Mae Ashely on May 11, 1946. Paul retired from Ford Motor Company in 1986, after 23 years. He also owned and operated Wilkinson Sunoco on Cleveland Rd. and P & W Sunoco, along with Carl Pitsenbarger, on Tiffin Avenue in Sandusky. Paul enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting for many years well into his nineties.

He is survived by three sons, Michael (Mary Beth), Steven (Ellen), and Chris; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Wayne) Stanfield; sisters-in-law, Joan Ashley, Eunice Wilkinson, and Nedra Wilkinson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years and the love of his life, Virginia; brothers, Joe, Jack, and Bob; sisters, June Bonham and Jeannie Van Zoest; and granddaughter Erica Wilkinson.

There will be a private family graveside service. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
