Local highway construction for the week of September 13

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties on the week of September 13.

Erie County

U.S. 6 from the western Vermilion Corporation limits to the Lorain County line and State Route 60 from the southern Vermilion Corporation limits to U.S. 6 will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers on SR 60. Lane closures will be in place on U.S. 6 with one lane of traffic maintained in each direction. The estimated completion date is May 2022.

State Route 99 south of Strecker Road will have single lane closures for a culvert replacement project. Traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals or flaggers. The estimated completion date is October.

SR 113 between McIntyre Road and SR 61 will close on Tuesday, September 14 for 45 days for resurfacing work. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be SR 113 to U.S. 250, north on U.S. 250 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 113, and reverse for westbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Friday, October 29.

Crews will be resurfacing within the village of Milan from 7AM to 6PM.

Huron County

The intersection of U.S. 20 and State Route 601 is closed for an intersection improvement project that will convert the current intersection into a single-lane roundabout.

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass from SR 61 to the end of the bypass at Cleveland Road will have intermitted single lane closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion is September.

State Route 162 will close just east of Rome Greenwich Road and just west of Greenwich Milan Townline Road on Monday, September 13 for culvert replacements. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 162 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Friday, September 24.

U.S. 250 from U.S. 20 to the Ashland County line will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is September.

Lorain County

State Route 2 from just east of Baumhart Road to just east of SR 58 will have daily and nightly single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes at all times. The estimated completion date is September.

U.S. 20 between Stoney Ridge Road and Lear Nagle Road will have periodic single lane closures throughout the project limits. Crews continue finishing pavement markings and will begin installing reflective pavement markings along the project limits. The estimated completion date is September.

U.S. 20 from SR 57 to SR 301 will have single lane closures for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained at all times. The estimated completion date is October.

State Route 58 in the city of Lorain from Cooper Foster Park Road to U.S. 6 will have one lane of traffic maintained in each direction for a resurfacing project. Crews will be resurfacing from 7AM to 7OM. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly. The estimated completion date is September.

I-90 eastbound and westbound at the structures over the railroad tracks between French Creek Road and SR 611 (Colorado Avenue) will have lane closures for a bridge reconstruction project. Traffic will be maintained with barrels and portable concrete barriers. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes eastbound and westbound. Speed limits will be established at 55 mph for areas with barrier wall and 50 mph for areas with barrels when workers are present. The estimated completion date is July 2022.

The intersection of State Route 113 and Baumhart Road is closed for an intersection improvement project that will convert the current signalized intersection to a single-lane roundabout. The detour route for eastbound motorists on SR 113 will be SR 113 east to SR 60, north on SR 60 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to SR 58, south on SR 58 to SR 113, and reverse for westbound motorists. The detour route for northbound motorists on Baumhart Road will be Baumhart Road north on SR 511, east on SR 511 to SR 58, north on SR 58 to SR 2, west on SR 2 to Baumhart Road, and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date is November.

State Route 252 between Squire Road and Emmons Road is closed for construction of a drilled shaft wall. The detour route for southbound motorists will be SR 252 to SR 82, west on SR 82 to SR 83, south on SR 83 to SR 303, east on SR 303 to SR 252, and reverse for northbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Thursday, September 30.

State Route 254 from Avon Commons drive to just east of Nagle Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is October.

I-480 eastbound and westbound between the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) and Lorain Road will have daily and nightly lane closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is September.

Ottawa County

State Route 105 between S. Elliston-Trowbridge Road and S. Graytown Road in Harris Township will be closed for a slope repair project through Tuesday, September 21. The detour is SR 105 to SR 51 to SR 163 to SR 590 to SR 105.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6 between CR 232 and TR 240 in Fremont is closed for a bridge replacement. The estimated completion date is September 30. The detour is US 20 to SR 412 to SR 510.

Eastbound U.S. Route 20 between State Street and US 6 in Fremont is closed for a slope repair. The estimated completion date is September 10. The detour is US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20.

Westbound U.S. Route 6/20 between SR 19 and US 20 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane for a slope repair. The estimated completion date is September 10.

West State State ramp to State Route 53/U.S. Route 6 in Fremont is closed during the Eastbound U.S. Route 20 project.

U.S. Route 20 between County Road 32 and County Road 117 in Woodville is reduced to one lane in each direction at the railroad tracks due to pavement conditions.

State Route 19 between Maple Ln. and Academy St. in Green Springs is closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20.

Clay St., between Academy St. and Morgan St., may experience lane restrictions for sidewalk replacement beginning Friday, August 6, through August.

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 300 north of SR 600 in Gibsonburg is closed for work performed by the Village of Gibsonburg. The detour is US 6 to US 23 to US 20. Work will be performed by Village of Gibsonburg.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23 between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed in October.

State Route 19 between SR 101 and SR 228 in Republic will be closed for a culvert replacement beginning Tuesday, September 7 for 30 days. The detour is SR 19 to 228 to 101.

State Route 53 between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions nightly The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 100 between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in November.
