Sandusky High School and Sandusky Middle School to go to virtual learning

SANDUSKY – Sandusky City Schools announced Sunday that Sandusky High School and Sandusky Middle School will go to virtual learning due from Monday, August 30 to Friday, September 3.

The district says that decision is being made due to a rise in COVID-19 in Sandusky High School. They say that all COVID-19 based decisions will be made on a building-by-building basis.

Monday will serve as a transition day for students. On this day, the schools will be open from 8AM to 11AM to allow students the opportunity to pick up any materials or technology they may need.

On Tuesday, online instruction will begin for students. Attendance will be taken during live instruction, and classwork will be completed through Google Classroom.

Students will have the option to pick up lunch and next day breakfast from Sandusky Early Learning Academy, Sandusky Primary School, Sandusky Intermediate School, Regional Center for Arts and Academic Studies, and the parking lot of Sandusky High School.

All extra-curricular activities will continue as scheduled. Coaches and advisors will resume safety protocols that were in place last year.

The Erie County Health Department will offer free COVID-19 testing to any staff or student in the Sandusky High School Auditorium from 9AM to 10AM on Monday.
