154 new cases of COVID-19, one new COVID-19 death in Erie County in past week

SANDUSKY – Since August 17 in Erie County, there were 150 new cases of COVID-19, one new COVID-19 death, and 19 new COVID-19 hospitalizations.

9,039 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in Erie County.

216 people have now died from COVID-19 in Erie County.

18 people are currently being treated for COVID-19 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. 11 of those people are unvaccinated. 876 people have now been hospitalized for COVID-19 in Erie County.

39,212 or 52.82% of people in Erie County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 36,687 or 49.4% of people in Erie County have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To register to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Ohio, go to gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov.

The CDC currently lists Erie County as having “high” community transmission of COVID-19.
