Local highway construction for the week of August 23

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of August 23

Erie County

State Route 99 south of Strecker Road will have single lane closures for a culvert replacement project. Traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals or flaggers. The estimated completion date is October.

Huron County

State Route 13 between SR 162 and Omega Road will have daily lane closures for a culvert replacement project. The estimated completion date is August.

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass from SR 61 to the end of the bypass at Cleveland Road will have intermittent single lane closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is August.

U.S. 20 eastbound and westbound from SR 99 to SR 61 will have intermitted single lane closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 99 between Egypt Road and Township Road 12 is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 99 to SR 103, east on SR 103 to SR 61, north on SR 61 to SR 162, west on SR 162 to SR 99, and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Tuesday, August 24.

State Route 162 between Chenango Road and the Lorain County line will close on Monday, August 9 for three consecutive culvert replacements. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be SR 162 to SR 60, south on SR 60 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to SR 511, north on SR 511 to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Friday, August 27.

The intersection of U.S. 250 and SR 162 in Fitchville will close on Monday, August 9, as part of the U.S. 250 resurfacing project. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be SR 162 to SR 13, south on SR 13 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to SR 511, north on SR 511 to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Friday, August 20.

State Route 301 north of Main Street (SR 162) in the village of Spencer is closed to railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 301 to SR 162, east on SR 162 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 18, west on SR 18 to SR 301, and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date Friday, August 27.

Lorain County

U.S. 20 from SR 57 to SR 301 will have single lane closures for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained at all times. The estimated completion date is October.

Ottawa County

State Route 2 between the Sandusky Bay Bridge and State Route 53 in Portage Township and Port Clinton may experience lane restrictions for pavement repairs through August.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6 between CR 232 and TR 240, Fremont will be closed for a bridge replacement beginning Monday, August 2. The project is expected to be completed on September 30. The detour is US 20 to SR 412 to SR 510.

Eastbound U.S. Route 20 between State Street and US 6 in Fremont will be closed for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed on September 3. The detour is to go from US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20

Westbound U.S. Route 6/20 between SR 19 and US 20 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed in August.

U.S. Route 20 between County Road 32 and County Road 117 in Woodville is reduced to one lane in each direction at the railroad tracks due to pavement conditions.

State Route 19 between Maple Ln. and Academy St. in Green Springs is closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20.

Clay St., between Academy St. and Morgan St., may experience lane restrictions for sidewalk replacement beginning Friday, August 6, through August.

West State St. ramp to State Route 53/U.S. Route 6 in Fremont is closed for safety purposes through August.

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 300 north of SR 600 in Gibsonburg will be closed beginning Monday, August 16. The detour is US 6 to US 23 to US 20. Work will be performed by Village of Gibsonburg.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23 between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed in October.

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 53 in Tiffin will be closed beginning Monday, September 20 for 12 days. The US 224 detour is SR 4 to SR 162 to SR 18. The SR 53 detour is SR 18 to US 224 to SR 587.

State Route 19 between CR 24 and CR 38 in Republic will be closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed on Sunday, August 22. The detour is SR 18 to CR 113 to SR 101.

State Route 53 between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning Monday, August 3. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 100 between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in November.

State Route 100 between Township Road 58 and Township Road 17 will be closed for a bridge repair from Tuesday, August 24 through Wednesday, August 25. The detour is SR 67 to US 224 to SR 100.

State Route 101 between SR 778 and SR 19 in Republic will be closed for two culvert replacements beginning Monday, August 30. The detour is SR 778 to SR 19 to SR 101. The estimated completion date is early November.
