Fundraiser for Kedas family raises over $100,000 in single day

HURON – South Shore Marine created a fundraiser on Friday for the family of Chris and Owen Kedas.

Chris and Owen Kedas died in a boating incident on Lake Erie on Wednesday. They are survived by Lynn, Chris’s wife and Owen’s mother, and Cameron, Chris’s son and Owen’s brother.

The fundraiser’s goal is $100,000. According to the fundraiser’s description, the money will go directly to Lynn and Cameron. It also says that South Shore’s parent company, OneWater Marine, will match all donations up to the goal.

Chris was an employee of South Shore since 2009.

As of Saturday night, just one day after the fundraiser was created, $107,385 had been raised for the family. Multiple people donated over $10,000 thousand dollars.

The fundraiser remains open and can be found on GoFundMe.
