Local Highway Construction for the Week of June 14

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of June 14.

Erie County

Strub Road (CR 7), from Columbus Avenue to U.S. 250, will have westbound lane closures for a resurfacing project that includes the installation of an additional turn lane from U.S. 250 to Strub Road and sidewalk upgrades. The detour route for westbound traffic on Strub Road will be to take U.S. 250 (Milan Road) north to Perkins Avenue west to Columbus Avenue south, and reverse. The project is expected to be completed in July.

Huron County

U.S. 250, from U.S. 20 to the Ashland County line, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.

The intersection of U.S 250 and state Route 162 in Fitchville is reopened to traffic on Wednesday, June 9. It was previously closed as part of the resurfacing project.

Lorain County

U.S. 20, between Stoney Ridge Road and Lear Nagle Road, will have one lane of traffic maintained in each direction as needed for reconstruction and resurfacing work.

State Route 83 just north of Capel Road East will close on Tuesday, June 15 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be to go from SR 83 to SR 57, north on SR 57 to SR 82, east on SR 82 to SR 83, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is estimated to be completed on Wednesday, June 16.

I-480 eastbound and westbound, between the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) and Lorain Road, will have shoulder closures and daily lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance and guardrail repairs.

The I-480 eastbound exit ramp to Lorain Road is closed for concrete pavement replacement and asphalt shoulder resurfacing. The detour route will be to continue on I-480 eastbound to the Stearns Road exit, take Stearns Road to I-480 westbound, and then take the I-480 westbound exit ramp to Lorain Road. The project is estimated to be completed on Saturday, June 12.

Ottawa County

State Route 579 between the Wood County line and State Route 2 in Williston will continue to experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in in June.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 20 Eastbound between State Street and US 6 in Fremont will be closed for a slope repair beginning Tuesday, June 1. The detour is to go from US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20. The project is expected to be completed in August.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 6/20 Westbound between SR 19 and US 20 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane for a slope repair beginning Wednesday, June 16. The project is expected to be completed in August.

U.S. Route 20 between Hamer St. and SR 101 in Clyde will be closed for railroad repairs beginning Monday, June 21 for 5 days. Work will performed by the railroad. The detour is to go from US 6 to SR 2 to SR 4.

State Route 19 between Maple Ln. and Academy St. in Green Springs is closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20.

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 63 between CR 13 and CR 23 in Jackson Township is closed for a culvert repair. The project is expected to be completed on Wednesday, June 23. The detour is to go from US 6 to SR 53 to SR 12.
