2.8 million Ohioans have registered for the Vax-A-Million sweepstakes

COLUMBUS – Governor Mike DeWine gave an update about Ohio’s Vax-A-Million sweepstakes at Monday’s Ohio Coronavirus press conference.

The Vax-a-Million program is a publicly funded program to incentivise Ohioans to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The program will give five Ohioans 12 to 17 years old who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to enter to win a four-year scholarship to any State of Ohio university, and five Ohioans 18 and older who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to win one million dollars. 

As of Monday, 2,758,470 Ohioans 18 and older have registered for the $1M drawing,and 104,386 Ohioans 12 to 17 years old have registered for the scholarship drawing. The first winners will be announced on Wednesday at 7:29PM. Individuals can still register for the other four drawing by going to ohiovaxamillion.com or by calling 1-833-4-ASK-ODH.

Governor DeWine also said that since announcing the program, more younger Ohioans have gotten vaccinated. Governor DeWine said, “After announcing this promotion, we’ve seen the biggest increase in vaccinations in the 16-17 y/o age group: a 94% increase. Among 18 & 19 year olds, there has been a 46% increase. From the 20-49 age group, a 55% increase in vaccinations.”
