Local Highway Construction for the Week of May 24

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of May 24.

Erie County

Erie County currently has no active projects.

Huron County

Huron County currently has no active projects.

Lorain County

State Route 303 east of SR 301 will close on Monday, May 24 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be to go from SR 303 to SR 301, south on SR 301 to SR 18, east on SR 18 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 303, and reverse for westbound motorists. The project is expected to be completed on Friday, May 28.

The U.S. 20 eastbound exit ramp to SR 57/U.S. 20 East/SR 301 North will close on Tuesday, June 1 for parapet wall repairs on the structure over SR 57. The detour route will be to continue on SR 10 east to the SR 83 exit, re-enter onto SR 10 westbound to then take the SR 57/U.S. 20 East/SR 301 North exit to Medina/Elyria. The project is expected to be completed on Monday, June 14, 2021

The SR 57 entrance ramp to U.S. 20 westbound will close on Tuesday, June 1 for parapet wall repairs on the structure over Grafton Road. The detour will be to continue south on SR 57 to Grafton Road and head north on Grafton Road to re-enter onto U.S. 20 westbound. The project is expected to be completed on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Ottawa County

State Route 19 between Main Street and Oak Street in Oak Harbor will continue to be closed through May.

State Route 579 between the Wood County line and State Route 2 in Williston will continue to experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in in June.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 20 Eastbound between State Street and US 6 in Fremont will be closed for a slope repair beginning Tuesday, June 1. The detour is to go from US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20. The project is expected to be completed in August.

State Route 19 between Maple Lane and Academy Street in Green Springs will be closed for a culvert replacement beginning Tuesday, June 1. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20. The project is expected to be completed in August.

State Route 19 will experience lane restrictions for drainage work beginning Monday, May 24 through Friday, May 28.

State Route 53 between Schwartz Road and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may continue to experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

Seneca County

US 23 lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail replacement between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail beginning Tuesday, June 1. The project is expected to be completed in October.

State Route 19 between TR 184 and CR 6 in Bloomville will continue to be closed for bridge replacement over Silver Creek. The detour is to go from US 224 to SR 4 to SR 103. The project is expected to be completed in May.

State Route 231, between TR 90 and TR 58 in Tiffin is closed due to a culvert failure. The detour is to go from US 224 to SR 100 to SR 67 to SR 231.
