More details announced about Ohio’s Vax-a-Million program

COLUMBUS – Governor Mike DeWine announced more details about Ohio’s Vax-a-Million program on Monday.

The Vax-a-Million program is a publicly funded program to incentivise Ohioans to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The program was first announced by Governor DeWine on Wednesday. The program will give five Ohioans 12 to 17 years old who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to enter to win a four-year scholarship to any State of Ohio university, and five Ohioans 18 and older who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to win one million dollars.

Governor DeWine announced that, in-contrast to his Wednesday announcement, to enter the program, individuals will need to register for the drawing. Individuals can register by going to ohiovaxamillion.com or by calling 1-833-4-ASK-ODH. Registration will open up on May 18.

Both drawings will also now start on May 26. They will take place once-a-week for five weeks.

Governor DeWine also said, “Since the two big announcements last week about vaccine eligibility opening up for 12 to 15-year-olds and our Vax-a-Million incentives, we have heard that local health departments and pharmacies are seeing more people coming in to get vaccinated. This is great news!”
