Ohio lifts mask mandate for vaccinated individuals

COLUMBUS – Governor Mike DeWine announced Friday that, in accordance with new CDC guidelines, Ohio will no longer require masks for fully vaccinated individuals, in most indoor situations.

While fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear a masks indoors, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals will no be required to wear masks indoors on June 2. Governor DeWine announced on Wednesday that on June 2 most of Ohio’s COVID-19 heath orders will end.

An individual is considered fully vaccinated when it has been two weeks after they received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one and only dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The CDC continues to recommend that all individuals wear masks where they are in healthcare settings or travelling on public transportation, including airplanes. Business and schools can also continue have their own mask requirements.
